Use RSScache.com with your feeds!
RSScache.com is the solution to all your RSS bandwidth over usage! Start using our free solution with your existing feeds! No installation needed, just add " my.rsscache.com/ " to your feeds URL! We even support all popular feed formats, like RSS, Atom and RDF! Read on for full explanation!
Your bandwidth problem:
As you might know by now, if your feed is a little popular, bandwidth grows fast as more readers subscribe to it. Bandwidth is lost since full content of your feed is sent back to the readers although no news has been added since the last check. Bandwidth is lost for both you (webmaster) and the readers accessing your feed.
Using RSScache.com:
We offer a service that allows you to save your bandwidth. No need to install anything: simply add " my.rsscache.com/ " to your existing feeds. For example, suppose you have this feed URL:
http://www.yoursite.com/feed.xml
Now, to start using RSScache.com on with this feed, add " my.rsscache.com/ " to your URL displayed on your Web site:
http://my.rsscache.com/www.yoursite.com/feed.xml
That's it! Now, simply ask all your readers to update the URL in their RSS readers! As more people update the URL, you will see important bandwidth changes!

Examples of feeds using RSScache.com
Here are examples on how to use our system. As you can see, the only different in the URL is the " my.rsscache.com/ " string preceding the actual feed URL. You can also see that we support many feed formats!
http://my.rsscache.com/www.tcmagazine.info/modules.php (format: RDF)
http://my.rsscache.com/blog.CAcert.org/feed/ (format: RSS 2.0)
http://my.rsscache.com/www.blogger.com/developers/atom.xml (format: Atom 0.3)
To test RSScache.com, open one of these example feeds in your browser. You will see a dynamically generated page that is easy to read. Take a look at the source code of the page, which is the same XML code as the original feed. Now, refresh your Web browser 5 times. On the fifth refresh, take another look at the XML source; you will see that you no longer receive any news in the content of the XML, only the header part! RSScache.com is then starting to save bandwidth! Take note that if you are using IE to test the Atom feed, you will not see the result correctly.
Generate automatically your feed URL
Enter your feed URL in the box and get the HTML code you need to put on your Web site to be RSScache.com ready! Easy!
Take note of these differences when generating your HTML code:
- Simple HTML : this is good for most feeds. Select this if you just want to get your new URL to work with RSScache.com.
- Advanced HTML : for feeds with heavy traffic (hundreds of users). Select this if you want that each user gets a unique URL. This might be needed if you want that users with the same WAN IP address are not seen as only one user. The HTML code generated includes JavaScript.
